Fondazione ISEC preserves documentary and library sources on Italian social, political, economic, and cultural life from the early 1400s to the present day, ranging from the earliest forms of industrialization to major industrial enterprises (Bastogi, Breda, Ercole Marelli, Italtel, Riva Calzoni, etc.), and from the struggles of the Resistance and of workers to the activities of political movements and parties in the postwar period.
The Foundation’s holdings consist of:
- 450 archival collections
- 65,000 library volumes
- 5,100 periodicals in the newspaper and periodicals collection
- 170,000 photographs
- 70,000 technical drawings
- 2,000 advertising mock-ups
- 2,500 political posters
- 450 motion picture films and videos
- 800 hours of recorded interviews on audio or video media
- hundreds of memorabilia of various kinds
